Hello! I’m a Tacoma-based family and adventure photographer, wife, mom, and lifelong lover of the Pacific Northwest. You'll usually find me chasing sunsets, exploring Washington's beaches and mountains, or documenting my own family's adventures—the same people, places, and moments that inspire the way I photograph yours.
Hey friend
I have always been a memory-keeper (something I got from my mom, who diligently took, printed, and memorialized in albums the photographic proof of our family’s life).
First, of my friends in our childhood and adolescence (I still have the shoeboxes of 4x6’s to prove it) then, in young adulthood of my friends and later my future-husband in all our travels and adventures, and finally, of my own growing family as each of my two daughters was born.
And now, after all the years of being the memory keeper for the special people in my life, I consider it the greatest honor to be able to do the same for my clients and their loved ones. It is a gift that I do not take lightly and for which I am beyond grateful. I do this work so that you, the memory-keeper of your own family, can get in the photos and be part of the memory yourself, not just the one recording it.
You deserve to be seen and witnessed participating, loving, and being loved by your family.
The images I treasure most aren't necessarily the technically perfect ones. They're the photographs that transport me back to a feeling.
The way my kids laughed at a particular age. The adventures we took together. The places that became part of our family's story.
That's what I want for my clients, too.
Whether we're exploring Mount Rainier, wandering a beach on the Olympic coast, or simply enjoying a sunset close to home, my goal is to create photographs that preserve not just how life looked, but how it felt.
Because this season won't last forever—but the memories can, and you deserve to be in them.
A few years later, after having children of my own, I discovered a similar approach within family photography.
Not stiff family portraits. Not perfectly posed smiles. Families exploring together. Kids running through wildflower fields. Parents soaking in a sunset while holding the little hands that won't stay little forever. The people were still the heart of the story, but the landscape became part of it too.
Today, I photograph families, couples, and mothers throughout Washington, from local sessions in Tacoma and Seattle to full Adventure sessions in places like Mount Rainier and the Olympic Peninsula.
I've loved photography for as long as I can remember.
As a kid, I was always carrying a camera (either this neon blue film camera that I LOVED in elementary school or disposable cameras at summer camp and beyond because…well, ’90s).
Into my late teens and early twenties, I fell in love with landscape photography (inspired by my dad’s shared love of the same) and travel photography (from my time living and traveling in Europe). Give me a mountain view, a dramatic coastline, or a beautiful sunset, and I was happy. At the time, whenever anyone suggested it, I couldn't imagine becoming a portrait photographer. Traditional "stand here and smile at the camera" photos just didn't excite me.
Then I got engaged. As I searched for a wedding photographer, I discovered artists creating incredible imagery that blended genuine human connection with breathtaking landscapes. Suddenly, photography didn't have to be about choosing between people and beautiful places—it could be both.
I knew right then that I wanted to create work like that someday.
